Its officially fall so I thought I’d give you a little bit of an update on some fall beauty trends I am inspired by. Normally I’m not big on the trend bandwagon, theres too many to keep up with and I only like a select few of them (stop trying to make birkenstocks happen!) that I don’t even bother. This year I did see some things at Fashion Week that really stood out to me as trends I want for my own beauty routine that are easy to incorporate.
Put down the BeautyBlender and pick up the face serum! Gone are the days of heavy highlighting and contouring and in are the days of celebrating healthy skin with just a touch of concealer or tinted moisturizer. I am in LOVE with this trend! It’s not new by any means but getting back to basics feels really refreshing after the heavily contoured beauty trend. It’s all about drinking more water, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and using great skincare products to achieve healthy looking skin instead of layers of makeup. My skin can breathe a sigh of relief and my makeup bag can actually zip shut!
Biologically we find rosy cheeks to be more attractive because they are a sign of good health so it’s no surprise that this trend goes hand in hand with the healthy skin trend. There are so many colors and formulas to play around with and find what works best for you. I love this subtle trend because blush looks really natural when blended in and gives you glowing, radiant skin.
Red lips have always been a classic but this season they are getting a bit of a makeover. Reds of every shade from bright cherry to almost black are giving a nod to the 90s. Different shades of red are a great way to play on a classic look and is perfect for fall. I’m really loving the berry shade right now, my current favorite lipstick formula is Lipstick Queen.
I’ve always been a fan of black eyeliner from smudgy kohl to crisp liquid winged liner. Its so fun to bring these classics back and ditch the heavy eye makeup for simple clean lines. I love a good winged liner but sometimes I change it up and do a smudgey black look for a no-makeup look.
