Friday Favorites: Athleisure Looks

If you haven’t watched this video yet, you need to. As a busy mom I end up spending a lot of time in workout clothes, I do a lot of running around chasing my busy boy so I find myself in Nikes and Lulu leggings more often than I care to admit. Activewear is the perfect blend of stylish, figure-flattering and comfy sweats. Lets face it, half of the reason I’m excited to workout is to wear spandex and sports bras and look cute and not look like a hot mess.

I don’t just wear activewear for fun- I do live a healthy lifestyle, I eat really healthy and I stay active. I pride myself on both of those things on a personal level because its taken a lot of dedication to do so. I run 3 miles tw0-four times a week depending on my schedule and the weather. I also got to Barre 3 days a week which, if you read my last post, is one of my New Years resolutions. Most of the time I take the baby and let him play in the childcare area with all of his buddies which has been a lifesaver. I love that I’m able to have an hour of me time but man does it kick my butt.

When done right I really do love the athleisure style. Combining the comfort of athleticwear with some stylish pieces for a laid back, comfy-cool look. The athletic style is really in, the whole health movement has it made with so many cute options for activewear, which has a lot of really functional pieces that are both comfortable and are easy to move in. They pair great with more chic and sophisticated pieces because it breaks up the formality of the outfit and is not something you see every day. This is one trend that I want so badly to master because it’s the perfect on-the-go-mommy-style. I rounded up some of my favorite looks and added the items needed to recreate them. Most of the items linked to are ones I wear on a regular basis with a few others thrown in that are on my wish list.
