What Is The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is my favorite sale of the year and its just around the corner! I got my catalog last week and have been pouring over it daily because there are some amazing finds this year, you can find it online here. The Anniversary Sale is a great time to stock up on the seasons hottest pieces because they mark down brand new items for the sale which then go back up to full price for the rest of the season. This includes brand name and designer pieces that you will be seeing all season long.
When Does It Happen?
The #Nsale runs from July 21st-August 6th but if you are a Nordstrom cardholder you can shop the sale early starting July 13th with a Nordstrom credit or debit card.
Dates to remember:
July 13th: 12:01 a.m. PST Early Access Begins
July 21st: 12:01 a.m. PST Public Access Opens
August 6th: 11:59 p.m. PST Sale ends
How Do I Shop The Sale?
Make a plan to shop it as early as you can because things do sell out quickly especially in popular sizes. The sale is in stores and online so you can shop the sale in your sweat pants with a glass of wine in hand from the comfort of your couch if you want to. I highly recommend shopping online or choosing the store pickup option because it’s always a madhouse in there.
Shop wisely and take advantage of the shipping options they offer.
What Should I Buy?
Go into the sale with a plan and a budget, make a list ahead of time of things that you know you need so you don’t get overwhelmed or carried away. I know it’s hard to think ahead to fall and winter because it’s still summer but it can help you in the long run to save money if you are thorough when planning ahead. If you know you need new boots or a winter jacket then make those a priority. This sale is the perfect time to stock up on boots (both knee high and ankle), I will be posting individual shopping guides and rounding up the best of the best deals for each category (women, men, beauty, kids).
Should I Get A Nordstrom Card?
Nordstrom offers a store debit and credit card both of which will allow you to shop the sale early. Getting early access to Anniversary Sale items is a huge perk. Popular sizes sell out quickly and sometimes there are exclusive items available specifically during Early Access which don’t get restocked even after the sale. If you sign up for either card before
July 9th you can earn and $20 note the start of the sale you can earn a $10 note.
If store credit/debit cards are not your thing you can still sign up for their reward program which is free to sign up and uses your email or phone number to record reward points when you make purchases. If you sign up for a reward account before the sale you can earn a $10 note. Nordstrom Rewards customers earn points on every net purchase made in stores and online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and HauteLook.
Every 2,000 points gets you a $20 Nordstrom Note to use online or in-stores.
Pro-tip! You can schedule a Personal Triple Points Day during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale when you plan to make a big purchase, or on a special occasion—like your birthday! Schedule the day in-store with your favorite salesperson, or online during checkout at Nordstrom.com.
Got Any Other Tips?
- Sold Out Items- If your item is sold out online write down the brand, style name, and style number and call your local stores. Sometimes items go out of stock online but are still in stores.
- Price match- If you buy an item and you find it for a lower price within 14 days you can usually get a price adjustment. This doesn’t always apply to sale items or special discounts but its worth asking.
- Personal Stylist- This is a free service that Nordstrom offers to customers. You can book online or email your stylist directly and when you show up to your appointment she will have pulled a bunch of items for you to try on. You can let them know if there are specifics that you have seen and want to try on. I like that I can build a relationship with someone who gets to know me and my style and can look out for specific items in price ranges I am comfortable with.
