OOTD: Over The Knee Boots

I’ve been hesitant to buy over the knee boots in the past because I’m not very tall and they scared me. I was not a fan because every pair I tried on didn’t fit right. They were either too loose in the thigh and leg or were too high and made my legs look so stubby. I actually bought a pair of Steve Madden boots that were a perfect dupe for the Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots I’ve been drooling over but they were so incredibly uncomfortable and the leg was too loose. This pair of Dolce Vitas are discontinued but I found a few very similar ones that I will link to below. I found these over the knee boots on Poshmark of all places.

I like to support boutiques and consignments stores because I like local businesses and they are advocating for recycling fashion. I’m not a huge fan of Poshmark simply because their shipping charges are outrageous and sellers try to gouge you for money a lot. I’ve sold a number of things and tried to be really fair with pricing. I’ve had a few girls take advantage of that and buy things from me for a good price only to turn around and sell them on their own page for twice as much. If you are careful, its a great tool for buying gently used clothing.

This vest is from the J. Crew and is currently on sale! It’s down instead of quilted which means its lighter and warmer. I chose the gray herringbone because it had a softer look to it and I could picture it with more things in my closet. It’s so versatile and soft plus the best part is that the back is lower than the front so if I do wear it with leggings I don’t feel so exposed. Look out for the vest in future posts! I paired it with this soft cotton striped top. I love 3/4 length sleeves for fall because the mornings and evenings can be 45 degrees but it still gets up to 75 during the day.

Last but not least are my all time favorite jeans. I order a pair during the Nordstrom sales every year and they last forever. They are super comfy, have great stretch, and come in my size (23). Petite girls rejoice! The Ankle Peg cut is the perfect length for ladies 5’3″ and under and fit exactly like their full-length ones on petite legs. That means no bunching or folding! With over the knee boots, having jeans that hit at the right point on my leg is important so I don’t have chafing or weird, bulging places inside the boot. I prefer jeans with some extra give and stretch for comfort but that’s just me.
