I wore this outfit to a picnic brunch with a few of my girls the other day and it was perfect. We’ve been having some amazing weather here in the PNW with crisp mornings that turn into warm sunny days with cool evenings. Since most of us have kids we met up in the park where they could run around while we chatted over coffee. Everyone brought something to share so we ended up with a ton of food- coffee, pastries, charcuterie, banana bread, fruit, quiche etc.
I made these avocado toast crostinis with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes that I found on Pinterest from Cafe Delites. I was born and raised in California and my parents used to make an avocado toast similar to this so when I saw it I knew it was the perfect recipe. I made mini versions with it with a fresh baguette I picked up because I thought they would be easier to eat and transport. I have a whole board of brunch recipes that I’m always looking for a reason to test out so this was a perfect occasion. I had so many people asking for the recipe that I thought I’d just go ahead and post it here for everyone to find. It was really easy to put together and had such big flavor.
One of my biggest pet peeves is style that is not functional. I am all about comfort first and style second so if something looks cute but feels funny on or restricts me from moving it goes back. Fortunately, this top is super easy to move in and is so comfy. I like that it is a longer top so I can tuck it into pants and shorts for a laid back feel. I paired it with some well worn denim shorts and these super cute sandals (which are on sale right now).
